How the booking works

Three taps. One cab.
No surprises.

Type, see the fare, confirm. There's no estimate page that turns into something else when the driver arrives. The price on the quote bar is the price on your receipt — including tolls, the airport drop fee, and up to fifteen minutes of waiting.

01

Type where you're going.

House numbers, postcodes, hospitals, hotels, the pub on the corner of Kingston Road. Our address book covers every street in KT, TW, SW15–18, SM3–7, and onward into Surrey. Tap Use my location and we'll fill in pickup from GPS.

02

See a real fixed price.

The quote bar shows the all-in fare the second both addresses resolve. It accounts for the route, the traffic on the M25 right now, the airport drop fee, every toll, and a fifteen-minute waiting allowance. The number holds for five minutes — you don't have to rush.

03

A cab from three streets away.

We dispatch from a live pool of 90+ cars — most of which are sitting within 3 km of where you are. You get the driver's name, plate, and live arrival ETA the moment you confirm. If they're late, the fare drops. If we can't dispatch in time, we say so before you confirm.

Why book direct with EasyCab

Same ride.
Different bill at the end.

A side-by-side from the last year of customer feedback. We're not the cheapest cab on the road — we're the one whose fare doesn't change while you're sitting in traffic. Here's how booking direct compares with the apps most people open first.

What you don't have to worry about

The small things
we've already sorted.

Eleven years of regulars means we've heard every version of "but what if…" Most of them have a built-in answer that's already part of the booking. The ones below come up most often.

Drivers DBS-checked, every one.

Enhanced DBS, PHV licence, and three years of cab experience minimum before they sit in a EasyCab. We re-check yearly. Photo, plate and name show on your phone the moment a job is allocated — so you know who's coming.

Flight tracking built in.

Type your flight number when booking an airport pickup and we track it from wheels-up. If you're 90 minutes late, the driver is 90 minutes late — no extra charge, no panicked phone call to dispatch from a baggage carousel.

Pay how you like.

Card on file, Apple Pay, Google Pay, cash to the driver, or account billing if you're a business. The price is identical across all five — we don't add a card-machine surcharge or push you to one method over another.

Free wait — more than you think.

15 minutes free on a local pickup, 60 minutes free on an airport arrival. After that it's £0.45 per minute — published on the pricing page, no mystery line on the receipt. We'd rather wait for you than chase you for a fiver.

Cancel without paying.

Free up to two minutes before the driver arrives at your pickup. After that it's £4 if we've already dispatched. Plans change, weather changes, taxis aren't supposed to be the thing that punishes you for it.

A human on the phone.

020 0000 0000 — answered in eleven seconds on average, by a controller sitting in our Whitechapel office. Not a phone tree, not a chatbot. If you'd rather book by voice, we'd rather you did — that's how the last eleven years have worked.

"We booked five EasyCabs for a wedding party from Kingston to Richmond. Quote came up at £162 for all five. That's exactly what we paid — no surge, no airport-style mystery surcharge. The app would have been £280 minimum."

Booking questions, answered

The five things
people ask before clicking confirm.

A focused FAQ for first-time bookers. The full thirty-question version lives on the FAQ page — but these five answer 80% of the messages we get on the contact form.

Most pickups in our core zones — Kingston, Surbiton, New Malden, Richmond, Twickenham, Putney, Sutton, Streatham — arrive within two to six minutes of you tapping confirm. The booking screen shows the live driver ETA before you confirm, so you know what you're committing to. Outside the core zones (greater Surrey, deeper East London) it's typically eight to twelve minutes. Pre-book overnight and the driver is at the door ten minutes before your booked time, free of charge.

Yes. The quoted fare locks the moment you press confirm. It includes all tolls, the airport drop fee where relevant, ULEZ, the Congestion Charge if your route crosses it, and up to fifteen minutes of waiting time at pickup (sixty minutes on an airport arrival). We never surge — the price stays the same at 3 PM on a Tuesday or 3 AM on New Year's Eve. The only thing that can change a fare after confirmation is if you ask the driver to add a stop on the way.

Type the postcode, the nearest landmark, or the pub on the corner — our address book covers most informal place names in our coverage area. If the form can't find it, ring dispatch on 020 0000 0000. A real person picks up day or night and can take the booking from a description like "the back entrance to Kingston Hospital, by the recycling bins." We've heard worse.

Yes — tap the + icon next to the drop-off field to add up to three intermediate stops. Each stop adds a small fixed amount to the fare (usually £2–£4 depending on how far off-route it is) and is shown live before you confirm. You can also add a stop mid-ride by asking the driver — the meter doesn't lie about how much that adds.

Card on file, Apple Pay, Google Pay, cash on arrival to the driver, or business account billing if you have one. The price is identical across all payment methods — we never add a card surcharge, a "processing fee," or anything else that nudges you toward one option. Receipts arrive by email within five minutes of completing the ride; itemised, VAT-broken-out, ready for an expense claim.

Ready when you are

Pull a fare.
Pull a cab.

It takes about twelve seconds — start over with two fresh addresses, or just ring the desk. Either way, you'll know the fare before the driver's started the engine.
